About the Play

Deathtrap is a masterpiece of suspense from Ira Levin, the acclaimed author of Rosemary's Baby and The Stepford Wives. The play follows Sidney Bruhl, a once-successful playwright struggling to recapture his former glory. When a former student sends him a script that is undeniably brilliant, Sidney finds himself contemplating a desperate act.

What follows is a twisting, turning plot full of surprise after surprise, where nothing is quite what it seems. Deathtrap holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running comedy-thriller on Broadway, and it is easy to see why -- the play keeps audiences guessing from the first scene to the final curtain.
